This summer the public bike sharing system of Budapest will be expanded with 21+1 new stations with 616 docking stations and 50 new bicycles.
In line with his prior promise Mayor István Tarlós will submit last year’s HUF 180 million, gained from contractual penalties, for the development of BKK’s public bike sharing network, and will also extend coverage of the services area.
BKK has set out the locations of the planned stations following the discussions with district governments, and it has considered the suggestions of users, who made comments on Mol Bubi’s Facebook page. BKK will install at all of the 22 stations new terminals, which will allow also casual users to register and purchase tickets.
The aim of this development is to make cycling within the area of MOL Bubi network more attractive, and also to make it safer for all the participants of the traffic. Furthermore the aim is also to cycling within the area covered by MOL Bubi becomes easily accessible.
