The last Metropolis trainsets were launched, and the last soviet-made metro trainsets were taken out from M2 line. During the event, Deputy Mayor Balázs Szeneczey has addressed the audience.
From now on, along the Metro Line 2, which is the east-west pulse of the capital city, only new 100 meter long trainsets will be running, produced by Alstom, said Deputy Mayor Balázs Szeneczey.
The Deputy Mayor emphasized that in the framework of the largest vehicle procurement of Budapest, 110 Metropolis-type metro cars have been purchased from Alstom, for the Metro Line 2, and 60 additional for the future Metro Line 4. With this action the 22nd Metropolis trainset has been launched, and the exchange of the rolling stock on M2 has been completed.
