The Budapest Summer Festival, beginning on June 13th at the open air stages of Margitsziget and Városmajor will await the visitors with a Shakespeare mini festival, theatre reviews, an open-air Carmen premiere, a dance performance about György Dózsa, and several concerts.
The concert of Ferenc Snétberger and friends, titled For my people, will start the Budapest Summer Festival on June 13th, at the Margitsziget Open-air Stage. The concert will pay a tribute to Roma and Sinti victims of the Holocaust, and Concerto Budapest, conducted by András Keller, will perform on that occasion.
For those who admire classical genre, there will be two ballet performances of Igor Stravinsky, The Rite of Spring and The Firebird, which will be performed by the artists of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography on June 27th.
The summer festival lasts till August, and this year it connects to several anniversaries, such as the 450th William Shakespeare’s birth.
