Several developments, such as reconstruction of sports facilities, enlargement of the open-air stage, will be realized till 2016 on Margaret Island, explained Mayor István Tarlós.
With regard to these developments, he has also explained that the renewed water tower, open-air stage and fountain, which is similar to that in Barcelona, will be handed over in two weeks. Further on the renewal of the stadium, the Palatinus beach, and the tennis stadium is planned, the running tacks will be renewed and enlarged, new ports and playground will be built, the lighting system and the irrigation systems will also be refurbished. Besides, the open-air stage will be enlarged, and a few developments will take place at the small zoo. The green areas will be refurbished, there will be more transport-related innovations, and the sewage system will be fully completed. Wireless access points will be created within the whole area.
The Mayor told, the investments will be realized systematically, mostly using the city’s own sources, but with a support from the government, expectedly till 2016.
