The Bálna has opened with a three days long series of programmes on November 8th. Through the opening weekend the new cultural, entertainment and leisure center of Budapest has awaited its visitors with performances of artistic groups, concerts, and a unique Budapest scale model.
- The previously called CET was one of those fifty investments, which have been defined by the new city leadership, as problematic. We may now bravely declare that another issue has been checked off from this list, said Gábor Bagdy. The Deputy Mayor for Finance expressed his hope that the Bálna becomes the new meeting point for the youth of Budapest, and that the cultural and commercial center may as well become the “Eiffel Tower of Budapest”.
The Municipality of Budapest has accommodated in the Bálna two new elements, the New Budapest Gallery on the second floor, as well as the antique shop and bio-shop on the basement floor.
