From May 2013, 159 brand new buses will circulate in Budapest, 79 of which will be twin-axle solo buses and 80 articulated buses. The first pieces of the entirely low-floor, air-conditioned, modern Mercedes Citaro 2 buses have been finished in recent days, with the first vehicles to arrive shortly to Hungary.
Buses will be managed by VT-Transman on behalf of BKK, the transport organizing company of the Municipality of Budapest. Finally, with the arrival of new buses, brand new, entirely low-floor buses will be used in the capital after 7 years. New vehicles will be put into service in three phases, from the first days of May, June and July. The very first photos, taken in the factory, are now released by the Municipality of Budapest and the Centre for Budapest Transport.
