Eight international competitions will be organized this year in Budapest

From 14th April till 22nd September Budapest will host altogether eight world competitions, four of which will be world championships and two European championships. The Municipality of the City of Budapest supports the realization of these events with HUF 60 million, announced Deputy Mayor Tamás Szentes.

The capital city will host an ice hockey Division I world championship on 14-20 April, fencing world championship on 5-12 August, men’s junior handball world championship on 10-23 August, and wrestling world championship on 16-22 September. At the end of April (25th-28th) Budapest will host the European judo championship, and men’s European karate championship on 9-12 May. At the beginning of May open international judo contests will take place for 10-18 year olds, and on 15th June the Budapest Open athletic contest will be organized.
