Budapest Spring Festival: twice as many venues and programmes as last year

Compared to last year the Budapest Spring Festival (BTF) awaits its audience with twice as many venues and programmes, the organisers expect it to become one of the most significant European events of all kinds of art during the next years, said the organisers at the event’s press conference.

The most prestigious Hungarian festival of all kind of art awaits the domestic audience with rich and quality event series, with new art venues and scenes, with a wide range of offered programmes for different age-groups, said István Tarlós, Mayor of Budapest.  World famous stars will perform one after the other, a series of exciting premieres will enrich the festival. As compared to the previous spring festivals the programme is quite extended, visitors will meet fantastic singers, opera rarities, performing artists with beaming unique style, dance performances of magical power, emphasized the Mayor.

The Budapest Spring Festival to be held between 21st March and 6th April will offer 172 programmes at 58 venues, from classical, contemporary and light music to dance and theatre performances, as well as fines arts. Among this years’ special performance and programmes there will be Philip Glass, The Vienna Philharmonic with conductor Zubin Mehta, the exhibition of the Uffizi Gallery from Florence, and the debuting Madách Imre International Theatre Meeting.
