On 1 March 1915 the first scheduled bus had started to operate. In honor of the centennial BKV Zrt. has organized various programs over the whole year, and on 1st March awaited visitors for its open days programs. Mayor István Tarlós took the patronage over the event series.
On the occasion of the hundred-year anniversary Deputy Mayor dr. Balázs Szeneczey has held a press conference and Tibor Bolla, CEO of BKV Zrt. has welcomed the visitors at Heroes' square. Dr. Kálmán Dabóczi, CEO of Centre for Budapest Transport has also attended the event. A convoy of eleven buses represented the past and present of BKV Zrt. at this vehicle exhibition, and following the event the buses have rolled along the Andrássy avenue, which was the route of the first bus line from 1915.
Over the year 2015 open days, programs, vintage parades, games and drawing competitions are organized in memory of the 100-year anniversary.
