Three elements of the “Waterway regulation in South-Budapest region” have come to an end: reconstructions of the city’s three most important streams have been completed along Irhás-árok, Hosszúréti-patak and 7th branch of Gyáli-patak.
Dr. Balázs Szeneczey, Deputy Mayor for City Development, has emphasized during the closing event that the waterway regulation of these three streams has solved a long-term problem. The large volumes of rainwater, falling off suddenly has implied a regular threat to people living and travelling in the project area. Due to the development’s results, the conditions of implementing territorial development concepts of district municipalities have been secured.
The total investment cost of the “Waterway regulation in South-Budapest region” has reached almost HUF 1 billion. The project’s aid intensity ratio was 85%, it was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and received almost HUF 850 million EU subsidy.
