Realisation of electronic ticketing system in Budapest begins next year

The realisation of the electronic ticketing system in Budapest starts next year: the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced that it would finance the introduction of the e-ticketing system providing EUR 54.2 million.

An old and remarkable deficiency of the country’s largest public transportation network, used by a large number of customers, is a modern, easy- and simple-to-use system, which may be adjusted to customers’ demands flexibly and cost-efficiently. During the last two decades numerous cities in the world have introduced a similar system – and now Budapest has also gained this opportunity.
