Deputy Mayor Tamás Szentes has ceremoniously launched the City’s Shop located in the building of the Mayor’s Office on the side of Bárczy István utca. The shop offers products and work made in the social care institution of Budapest, and by the students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, as well as the Hungarian University of Fine Arts.
The artistic and handicraft activities taking place in social care institutions of the Municipality have provided a good basis for creating a retail outlet offering such products, said Deputy Mayor Tamás Szentes. An other aim of setting up such a shop was that the citizens of Budapest visit the City Hall not only for administrative reasons, he added.
The costs of the works of the160 sqm retail outlet located inside the City Hall building reached 21 million forints, said Károly Paksi, managing director of the Budapest Esély Nonprofit Ltd., which created and operates the shop.
