Mayor Tarlós has visited the mission control center of the Hungarian lunar rover, the Puli Space Project, located at the City Hall of Budapest. The lunar rover was constructed for the international competition Google Lunar X Prize, the team is currently testing it in Morocco’s desert, simulating the conditions on Mars.
At the invitation of the Mayor, during the forthcoming period team members will control their lunar rover, transported to the desert, from the City Hall. Just for a while, the Mayor of Budapest has also assisted the team manoeuvring Puli rover from the mission control at the City Hall.
Although Puli is about to travel to the Moon and not to Mars, for the engineers it is a great opportunity to test the rover’s stability, solidity and preparedness. In February they will conduct a series of experiments with the rover, within the frame of this simulated Mars expedition.
