Based on the consent of the General Assembly of Budapest, of December 2012, the Centre for Budapest Transport called an open public procurement tender of purchase and operation of 300 new vending machines. This is the past decades’ most significant investment, improving the quality of passenger services and availability of points of sales.
The possibility of using credit cards will become common and widely accessible, and all the devices will be capable of accepting touch-free payment cards. Besides this, vending machines will accept all current Hungarian banknotes and coins. Passengers will have the opportunity to use the first machines already this year.
