A unified contract has been signed for support to the Metro Line 4

The realization of the long-standing Metro Line 4 project has arrived at an important phase: the unified contract secures the financing and provides the opportunity to hand over Metro Line 4 by 2014. A unified contract has been necessary, since till that point EU funds were drawn down according to two different contracts. In line with the agreement between the Municipality and the Hungarian Government, the total cost of the investment is HUF 452 billion. The concerned document has been signed by Mayor István Tarlós and National Development Agency President Zoltán Petykó.

Following a one year long period of preparation, the General Assembly of Budapest has adopted the proposal, through which it has put the EU Grant Contract, the Financing Agreement concluded by the Hungarian Government and the Municipality, as well as Complementary Agreement into a single framework. With the conclusion of this contract, the drawdown of subsidies coming from EU and national central budget estimates, will become more transparent.
