A group monument will be erected in honour of Ferenc Puskás in Óbuda

On February 27, the General Assembly of Budapest has unanimously decided to erect a group monument at the promenade of Óbuda, where Bécsi út and Dereglye utca cross each other.

This work of art will present Ferenc Puskás wearing a suit, juggling with a ball that belongs to one of the kids surrounding him. The monument will be created according to the plans of Gyula Pauer and Dávid Tóth, and is going to be inaugurated on 28 March 2013.

During the assembly meeting the members voted 18-14 in favour of adopting the budget for 2013. The gross sum of the budget is HUF 331 billion (almost EUR 1.2 billion). They have also agreed that new obligations may only be undertaken, if new external sources are also drawn in.
