The Széchenyi Thermal Bath has won the “Best international thermal bath” award of the 2016 IMTJ Health Tourism Awards. The independent international jury made selections in 21 categories, and awarded enterprises, which can show up outstanding results in the field of health tourism. “We are proud of this award in particular, since it reflects the international recognition of our efforts and improvements.” – said László Szőke, CEO of the Budapest Spas cPlc. Applications were accepted only from those baths, the waters of which have a scientifically proven health benefits.
The Széchenyi Healing Bath and Swimming Pool (Széchenyi Gyógyfürdő és Uszoda), which has already won the Hungarian Product Grand Award, is one of the largest bath facilities in Europe, the first healing bath of Pest, built between 1909 and 1913 in Renaissance style. The healing waters of Széchenyi Thermal Bath come from the second deepest well of Budapest, from 1246 meters, and has 76 °C.
The Széchenyi is the largest heritage and healing bath of Europe, over the last years has gone through three major renovations, the cost of which reached altogether HUF 3 billion.
