A calendar compiled by CNN’s editors, listing running events, recommends Budapest for October 2013, as a venue for marathon race.
The editors point out the picturesque city streets, and that practically the runners are sent off by the seven chieftains of Heroes’ Square. The race goes through the downtown and along the Danube, the editors also add that the course is almost entirely flat, therefore it is perfect to run a personal best.
The 28th Spar Budapest Running Festival will be held on 13th October. Last year the event had a record number of participants, with more than 19.000 runners.
