Three world premieres and star guests at the 33th Spring Festival

The 33th edition of the Budapest Spring Festival (BTF) awaits its audience with three world premieres and star guests between March 22 and April 7, announced the organizers at the press conference of the event. The organization of the event is the cultural mission of Budapest, said Mayor István Tarlós, where emphasis is taken not only on the presentation of Hungarian art but also on the presentation of new productions and celebration of actual anniversaries – this year we celebrate the year of Verdi and Wagner.

The festival will offer 70 programs at 17 venues. The aim of the event is to have the Hungarian art scene become the focus of international and domestic attention and join the international artistic and cultural circulation. The estimated budget of the festival is nearly 600 million forints, for which 200 million is provided by the Ministry of National Development.

Budapest Spring Fair 2013, the festival’s accompanying event, can be visited between March 22 and April 14, while various programs will be organized in 9 additional districts of Budapest during the festival.
