The original Turkish thermal pool of the Rudas Thermal Bath and Swimming Pool is the fourth on the list of world’s most beautiful baths. The thrillist.com American magazine has issued its list with Rudas Bath on it last year. The baths of Budapest tend to appear on foreign rankings among the first four: CNN chose Gellért Bath, Guardian chose Palatinus Bath, Spiegel Online chose Széchenyi Bath as one of the best.
With regard to the running reconstruction of Rudas Bath László Szőke, CEO of Budapest Spas Plc., has mentioned that the expansion of the bath’s premises, the building of new pools and saunas concerns an area of 2550 sqm. The total cost of the development is around one billion forints. In line with the plans the new, southern wing will have three storeys. A pool hall will be developed at the ground floor, where two middle-sized and two smaller, so-called dipping pools will be built. On the first floor a 250 sqm restaurant will await its guests. On the roof terrace a sunbathing terrace and a jacuzzi will be run. Inside the other building with the guest and personnel dressing-rooms, there will be a new 500 sqm sauna world created.
