The best Hungarian performances of the year were awarded at the third edition of the competition “Highlights of Hungary”. The project “We work like this”, which provides life path advice for secondary-school students, received the special prize of the program named “Budapest for young talents”. The prize was handed over by Mrs. Alexandra Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Deputy Mayor for human affairs and the patron of the event. The “Budapest for young talents” program was announced by BVA Budapesti Városarculati Nonprofit Kft. and supported by the Municipality of the City of Budapest.
“We work like this” is a social initiative which supports secondary-school students in life path planning, by introducing students who are looking for opportunities to professionals, in their summer camps and programs. Thus the youth can gain practical knowledge through real projects while they can also improve their creativity and competence.
The most exciting and important creative ideas were entered to the contest by 11 curators. Out of the 53 candidates 10 became public awarded (the list of candidates can be found here).
The purpose of the competition was to provide a colourful picture about the yearly achievements of the Hungarian creative sector on professional basis, without categories and with the involvement of the public. The aim of the organizers is to inform a much larger public about the successes and to have a much wider social basis for the creative profession.
In March, an exhibition will be opened from the works of the candidates in the Project Gallery at Kossuth Lajos utca 14-16.
